Startup Communities: Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Your City. By Brad Feld. I'm a firm believer in reading outside your industry. I heard Brad speak at ThincIowa in 2012 and his Boulder Thesis really spoke to me. This is an excellent book on the power of networks and how they are trumping traditional hierarchies and power brokers.
Where Good Ideas Come From. By Steven Johnson. Another great book by Steven Johnson - just scanned but am anxious to get to it!
Innovation to the Core. By Peter Skarzynski & Rowan Gibson. A great book on how to transform organizations into innovative and adaptive ones.
Innovate Like Edison. By Michael J. Gelb & Sarah Miller Caldicott. Sarah spoke to our community leadership group in Cedar Rapids recently and I picked up her book. Uses T.A. Edison as the backdrop to share how he was able to produce massive amounts of innovation over his lifetime and develop one of the few companies from the original Dow Jones still surviving today.
Innovator's Dilemma. By Clayton Christensen. Clayton's book on innovation that plants the seeds for his Disrupting Class - more detail about innovation.
